Saratoga Data Systems was founded by a group of data processing and semiconductor tool industry veterans who have been collectively responsible for the development and sales of industry standard software applications used around the world. The Saratoga team has extensive experience in the development of data processing applications, design automation software and the integrated circuit design and manufacturing process.

In the years leading to Saratoga’s founding, Saratoga’s founders were each challenged by massive data volumes proliferating faster than hardware and software facilities designed to process the data. Having worked together over the past several decades, the Saratoga team united to solve the data expansion problem first for the semiconductor industry and then to broaden their solutions for all industries and applications.

Saratoga Data is a privately held company.

Greg Fairbank,  President and CEO
Mr. Fairbank comes to Saratoga Data with an extensive background in enterprise software development and sales at high-growth technology companies. In his most recent role, Mr. Fairbank developed Endeca Technologies' rapidly growing government practice, successfully selling enterprise software to US civilian, military and intelligence agencies. As a software development manager at Sapient Corporation, Mr. Fairbank managed Sapient's first off-shore software development effort and delivered online banking and commerce applications to Fortune 500 clients. As a United States Army officer, Mr. Fairbank was last assigned to the Joint Chiefs of Staff. During his tenure with the Joint Chiefs, Mr. Fairbank represented his unit to the US Congress and provided briefings to the senior leadership of the Department State and Defense.

Mr. Fairbank holds a BS from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Laurence Brevard , Director of Engineering
Laurence Brevard joins Saratoga Data with over 30 years of technical leadership experience in software development, systems engineering and integration at leading electronics and EDA companies and research consortiums.

Mr. Brevard's software engineering experience includes technical design, development and management of technical and system software, instruction sets, hardware description languages, and programming interfaces. Having worked previously in R&D for Texas Instruments, MCC, CFI, Motorola, Cadence, and Synopsys, Mr. Brevard most recently developed software at Synopsys for a new product while also managing a key alliance program providing design database access interfaces to dozens of partner companies.

Mr. Brevard holds Bachelors and Master of Electrical Engineering degrees from Rice University.

Robert Cousins, Chief Technical Officer
Mr. Cousins has over 25 years of executive-level experience with technology companies. In 1990, he invented the Network Appliance. Earlier, as CTO of AIM Technology, he architected the AIM Benchmarks, which spawned over 40 books and over $50 Billion in computer purchases. While at AIM, he also architected Sun's Solstice SyMON distributed systems monitoring tool. Prior to AIM, Mr. Cousins was responsible for Data General's AViiON line of UNIX workstations. AviiON was 20% faster, $1000 cheaper and available months prior to the SUN SparcStation I. Before Data General, Mr. Cousins founded CSI, a computer manufacturer specializing in multiprocessor, network-based computers.

Richard Fairbank, Chief Software Architect
Mr. Fairbank has co-founded three companies for which the primary competitive product differentiation was the efficient management of massive data volumes. Most recently, Mr. Fairbank was a co-founder of Pinebush Technologies, the provider of the current semiconductor industry standard IC design printing product – HyperPlot. Prior to Pinebush, Mr. Fairbank co-founded Phoenix Data Systems, the developer of the first semiconductor industry standard physical verification and manufacturing preparation software – Maskap. Experience and product requirements of these company’s products led to the formation of Saratoga Data Systems.

Mr. Fairbank holds a BS Mathematics and an MBA, both from the State University of New York at Albany.

Arnold Goldfein
, Founder
Before joining Saratoga Data Systems, Mr. Goldfein held a number of software architecture and development management roles at some of the most prominent IC and EDA companies in the world. Prior to joining Saratoga Data, Mr. Goldfein was most recently a Project Manager at Actel and previously at Cadence Design Systems where he was also a software Architect.  Prior to Cadence Design Systems Mr. Goldfein was VP, Engineering at Phoenix Data Systems where he was responsible for the development and support of the EDA industry’s first verification tools.  Before Phoenix Data Systems, Mr. Goldfein was Director of Microcomputer CAD at Intel where he oversaw the acquisition, implementation and support of tools used in the development of microprocessors.

Mr.  Goldfein holds a BA degree from Columbia, a MBA from Syracuse University and a  “ABD” CS from Syracuse. Mr. Goldfein was Co-Chairman, SIA EDA Roadmap Taskforce,  1997-1999 and Past Chairman, IEEE Computer Society Technical Committee on Design Automation Program Committee Member, IEEE Design Automation Conference for six years.

David Gariepy, Founder, Director
David Gariepy has been involved with the development of EDA products for more than twenty years, serving in engineering and engineering management positions at Cadence Design Systems, Inc. and Intel Corporation.

Mr. Gariepy's EDA engineering experience includes physical verification, parasitic extraction, resolution enhancement, floor planning, circuit simulation, graphical design capture, and design database. At Cadence, Mr. Gariepy was a development manager responsible for more than 100 development staff located around the world.

Mr. Gariepy holds a MS degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a BS degree in Computer Science from Michigan State University.
